It first appeared on the Social Security Administration's top 1,000 for boy names in 2012, one year after Kyrie Irving was drafted No. 1 overall in the 2011 NBA Draft. The sporty name has skyrocketed in popularity since then, going from 872nd in 2012 to being in the top-250 every year since 2017 (one year after Irving won his first title).
