“This isn’t the Oscars, honey! We’re not changing for the after party!”
Carey Hart is getting better each day after he suffered severe injuries following a motorbike accident.
On Saturday, May 17, Hart revealed that he “had a pretty nasty get off, practicing Thursday morning.”
“Landed off a jump, bars knifed, and took the bar to the gut while going over the bars,” Hart continued. “As I understand it, severed my small intestine from my colon.”
Through pictures, Hart revealed he had to get several staples in his stomach following surgery and had a drain placed in his abdomen to aid in recovery.
Now that he has been discharged from the hospital, Hart has been sharing videos of his recovery progress.
In a video shared on Thursday, May 22, Hart shared that “recovery is going good. Started my first day on my feet, doing a mile walk. Today, shooting for five miles, throwing a mile on each day.”

“Sweating out the poisons,” he continued. “The anesthesia is a brain kicker for me, but starting to flush it out each day, saw a little bit of progression less and less sore. Can sneeze and burp and laugh with a little less pain, and all is good.”
As Hart continued, he said he chooses to share bits and pieces of his recovery because he enjoys turning “it into either a competition or a challenge for myself to either come back ahead of time, come back stronger.”
But he admits his and Pink’s daughter, 13-year-old Willow, “was giving me a hard time about” his recovery videos.
“My daughter was giving me a hard time about sometimes I do these post op videos (…) She tells me, it's cringe doing my videos,” he said of Willow. “And, you know, I just told her, Look, there's people that follow me that are either maybe going through health issues or injuries or recovery or whatever it might be, and then get a little bit of motivation from it. Just, you know, sharing little tidbits of my journey.”
In his original post sharing the details of his injuries, Hart also apologized to his wife for putting her “through this, yet again,” he said along with the laughing emoji.
He also thanked his two children he shares with Pink, 13-year-old Willow and 8-year-old Jameson “for coming to visit today.”
“Gonna rest up this week, and start the healing process,” Hart continued, also apologizing to “everyone I ghosted over the last couple days. There was a good reason for it.”
