Julie Chrisley is lamenting about all the moments she’ll never get back while she was in prison.
The 52-year-old reality TV star spent 28 months in a Kentucky prison after being found guilty of bank and tax fraud in 2022 with her husband Todd Chrisley — who reported to a prison in Florida.
Both Todd and Julie Chrisley were released from prison on May 28 following a pardon by President Donald Trump.

In a new interview with “Today” following the premiere of their new docuseries “The Chrisleys: Back to Reality,” Julie Chrisley recounted the time she spent away from her kids.
“There were so many life moments that I wish I could have been there for,” she told the outlet.
“Grayson graduated high school, he went to college. Chloe went to middle school. Savannah went through a breakup. Nic (Kerdiles) passed away while we were in prison,” she added.
Julie Chrisley shares three children — Chase, 29, Savannah, 27, and Grayson, 19 — with Todd Chrisley, who is also the father to two older children — Lindsie, 35, and Kyle, 33 — from his first marriage.
In 2016, Julie and Todd Chrisley legally adopted Kyle’s 12-year-old daughter, Chloe, after years of “substance abuse and run-ins with the law,” according to People.
Nic Kerdiles was Savannah Chrisley’s former fiancé, who died in a motorcycle accident in 2023, according to ESPN.
“There were so many of those moments that we should have been there for our children but unfortunately, we weren’t,” Julie Chrisley said in her interview with “Today.”
“So all we can do now is do what we’ve always done, just be there when we can be,” she added.
Todd and Julie Chrisley hope Savannah Chrisley can return to a normal life
Julie Chrisley previously described being away from her kids as “one of the most difficult things” about her prison sentence.
The admission came during the July 8 episode of Savannah Chrisley’s “Unlocked” podcast.
“Because I pride myself on being a good mother," Julie Chrisley said. "I pride myself in always being there for my children, and to have a time where I couldn't be there was, at some point, it’s debilitating."
"Because I know that Grayson and Chloe, especially, but (also) you and Chase, even though you're adults, you still need your parents," she added.
The episode came one week after the release of “The Chrisleys: Life After Lockup,” a one-episode special that dove into the couple’s prison sentence.
In the episode, Julie Chrisley praised her daughter for stepping up as a guardian for Grayson and Chloe.
"I have to say I was beyond proud. That’s probably what I’m the most proud of because they did deserve to be left without a mom, and she was able to step right in and not miss a beat,” she said, per People.
“I can never thank her for that," she said. "And the things that they were able to do and accomplish, I just couldn’t have done it any better,” she added.

Now that the Chrisley family is back in working order, Todd and Julie Chrisley hope their daughter can “go back to living her life as a 28-year-old,” according to “Today.”
