Ryan Brennan | December 18, 2025

The cold weather season is here — and winter names for boys are in full bloom.

For some of us, the winter months bring nothing more than a drop in temperature and the occasional overcast day. For others, it’s four months of blizzards, icy roads, daily shoveling and wind chill factors.

But let’s not forget about the lucky soon-to-be moms and dads who are preparing for a Christmas miracle.

With twinkling lights, crackling fireplaces and fresh snow on the ground, winter has a way of making everything feel more magical — especially when you’re counting down the days to meet your baby boy.

And these winter boy names are the perfect way to ring in the New Year.

So, whether your due date falls during the height of the holiday season or in the quiet, cozy stretch of January and February, here’s a list of some of the most popular winter-themed names for baby boys.

Winter names inspired by the cold

The winter season is known for its frigid temperatures, snowy environments and fireplace attitude.

That’s why so many parents love choosing a name that’s inspired by the cold weather that they can’t wait to get rid of — or the warm, cozy nights they look forward to as they avoid the chill that comes with it.

In fact, there were 60 baby boys named Winter in the U.S. in 2024, per the Social Security Administration

But if that’s too obvious of a name for you, then don’t worry. There are plenty others that are just as fitting for the cold weather season — and some that are so inconspicuous that no one will suspect a thing.
