Kristin Cavallari revealed on her podcast that she recently said goodbye to her longtime German Shepherd, Kona, opening up about the emotional decision.
Colleen Hoover is opening up about her cancer diagnosis amid her newest book release.
The 46-year-old author of “It Ends With Us,” which was adapted into a major film starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni in 2024, quietly revealed her cancer diagnosis in December in a private Facebook group.
Hoover has not revealed the type of cancer, but has provided small updates in the month since.
“Second to last day of radiation," she wrote in a Jan. 12 Instagram Story, according to People.
“I wish I could blame my hair and facial expressions on @Texas.Oncology, but they've been great. Hope you never need them, but highly recommend them,” she added over a photo of her in a medical gown.

The update came just one day before the release of her newest book, “Woman Down.”
Hoover returned to her Instagram Story on Jan. 13 with a more detailed update on her cancer journey.
“I’m doing much better. My cancer diagnosis was a while ago, but I chose to keep it private until after finding out my surgery was successful and what my other treatments would be,” she wrote in her Stories.
She went on to confirm that the diagnosis is nothing new to her followers and her Jan. 12 post wasn’t a “ploy to get sympathy-sales for release day.”
“And yes, I went to radiation treatment in Dallas yesterday morning and also surprised a bookstore doing a midnight release last night in South Carolina, not because I was lying about anything,” Hoover added.
“But because I’m a badass and did that s**t,” she continued.
Colleen Hoover initially hinted at ‘health issues’ in October

Hoover’s loyal fanbase was made aware of her health issues three months ago.
The bestselling author announced in an Oct. 17 Instagram post that she wouldn’t be able to attend the premiere (or any other events) for “Regretting You,” another one of her books adapted into a movie.
“I’m super bummed, but am having an unavoidable surgery and can’t travel for a while,” she wrote.
She then took to her private Facebook group, titled “Colleen Hoover’s CoHorts,” in December and alluded to “recurring health issues” that she “continued to put off” during the filming of “Reminders of Him.”
“Reminders of Him” is yet another one of Colleen Hoover’s books being adapted into a film.

“When I returned home, I found out I had cancer,” she wrote in the post, shared by Katyinc on Instagram.
“Mine has since been removed through surgery and I’ll be undergoing some radiation which I will begin soon, but luckily I did not need chemo,” she continued.
In a Jan. 9 Facebook post, Hoover confirmed that her cancer wasn’t a result of family genes, HPV or excessive hormones, and was more likely a result of “lack of exercise, poor diet and stress.”
“I’m happy and grateful to be alive but I hate vegetables. I hate when I have to get off the couch. I hate sweating. I hate when science is right,” she wrote in the post.
“If you see me at the gym, don’t even tell me good job. If you see me at a restaurant eating grilled chicken and drinking water, I’m probably real mad about it,” she added.
Colleen Hoover’s cancer update caps off an impressive three-year run for the author.
Aside from “It Ends With Us” (2024), “Regretting You” (2025) and “Reminders of Him” (2026) hitting the big screen, Hoover will also see her novel “Verity” adapted into a film in 2026.
