Alora, believed to be a variant of the name Elora, could be derived from the Hebrew elements el, meaning "God," and or, meaning "light." Together, it would translate to "God is my light." It could also be related to the Italian filler word allora, which primarily means "well," "so" or "then." It first appeared in the Social Security Administration's top 1,000 in 2018 and cracked the top 200 for the first time in 2023. "Big Brother" contestants Bayleigh Dayton and Chris “Swaggy C” Williams welcomed a daughter named Alora in 2021.
