Brayden, a variant of Braden, comes from the Irish name Bradán, meaning "salmon." This ocean- and nature-inspired name debuted in the Social Security Administration's top 1,000 baby names for boys in 1991 and was a top 100 boy's name every year between 2005 and 2018. It's still in the top 200 and is a preferred spelling over Braden, which fell off the top 1,000 in 2023. It's also the name HGTV stars Tarek El Moussa and Christina Haack gave their son, Brayden James, born in 2015.
