Georgia, the Latinate feminine form of George, comes from the Greek name Georgios and is derived from the Greek word georgos, meaning "farmer" or "earthworker." It can also be a place name inspired by the American state, which was named after King George II. Georgia was a top-100 girl's name in the early 1900s before falling out of the top-700 by the 1990s. It has since regained popularity and re-entered the top-150 in 2023 for the first time in more than 70 years. It's the name "Flipping Out" star Jenni Pulos gave her daughter Georgia Grace, born in 2017, as well as the name musician Mick Jagger gave his daughter Georgia May, born in 1992.
