Greyson, a popular variant of Grayson, is derived from the Middle English word greyve, meaning "steward." Therefore, Greyson translates to "son of a steward." While Grayson has been popular for more than a century, Greyson didn't appear on the Social Security Administration's top 1,000 for boy names until 1995. It saw a spike in popularity in the early 2000s and was a top-100 boy's name every year between 2016 and 2022. Even "Jersey Shore" star Jenni "JWoww" Farley joined in on the trend by naming her son Greyson Valor, born in 2016.
