Journee, a modern take on the trendy word name Journey, comes from the English word journey, meaning "an act or instance of traveling from one place to another." The word journey ultimately comes from the Latin word diurnus, meaning "of the day." The name first appeared in the Social Security Administration's top 1,000 for girl names in 2010 before cracking the top-200 for the first time in 2021. Journee has now been the preferred spelling (over Journey) since 2017 and was given to more than 1,400 baby girls in 2023 (compared to 923 for Journey).
