Juan, the Spanish and Manx form of John, comes from the Hebrew name Yohanan and is composed of the Hebrew elements yo, meaning "God," and hanan, meaning "to be gracious." Therefore, Juan means "God is gracious." According to the Social Security Administration, Juan has been a top-300 boy's name every year since 1900 and a top-150 boy's name every year since 1963 (with the exception of 2021). It even spent several decades in the top-100 from 1970 to 2014 and was given to more than 2,500 baby boys in 2023.
