In ancient Italy, Laurentum was a city likely named after the Latin word laurus, meaning "laurel." Lorenzo has appeared in the Social Security Administration's top-500 every year since 1900 and has been a top-200 boy's name every year since 2017. It's the preferred variant of Lawrence today and is the name "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Rachel Fuda gave her newborn son Lorenzo Antonio, born in 2025.
