The name first appeared in the Social Security Administration's top 1,000 for girl names in 1964, but didn't crack the top-200 until 1996. It has now been a top-100 girl's name every year since 2000 and a top-10 girl's name every year since 2009. Several celebrities have joined the trend by naming their daughters Mia, including Jennifer Gates (the daughter of Bill Gates), singer Robin Thicke, Bachelor Nation alum Sean Lowe and former "Big Brother" winner Reggie Bird.
