The name Thomas is the Greek form of the Aramaic name Te'oma, meaning "twin." In the New Testament, Thomas, also known as Didymus ("the twin"), was one of Jesus' twelve apostles. It was one of the most popular boy's names of the 1900s and ranked inside the Social Security Administration's top-15 every year between 1900 and 1969. Thomas fell as far back as 63rd in 2011 and 2012, but has since rebounded and has cracked the top-50 every year since 2016. It's also one of the most popular middle names used today.
