Valentina, an elaborated form of Valentine and feminine form of Valentinus, comes from the Roman cognomen Valens, meaning "strong," "vigorous" and "healthy." It first appeared in the Social Security Administration's top 1,000 for girl names in 1994, cracked the top-200 for the first time in 2010 and has now been a top-100 girl's name every year since 2017. It's also the name actress Salma Hayek gave her only daughter Valentina Paloma, born in 2007.
