The only two D girl names to crack the top-100 in 2024 were Delilah (50th) and Daisy (76th).
Gender reveals have become something of the norm. They can be extravagant or laid back, but one gender reveal on TikTok is being called the “best gender reveal I’ve seen.”
On Wednesday June 11, Makiah took to TikTok to share a video of her husband and their 1-year-old daughter Ryver participating in a lowkey, yet entertaining, gender reveal for their second child.
Makiah, her husband, and Ryver sat in front of a white cake that had either blue or pink frosting inside.
The plan was for Makiah and her husband to close their eyes, dip their glasses into the cake, revealing the pink or blue frosting. As their eyes remain close, it was Ryver’s job to shout out the color of the frosting.

After grabbing a chunk of cake with their glasses, Makiah is heard saying, “Ryver, what color?”
Ryver took a minute to inspect the cake before declaring the color of the cake was white. Makiah and her husband went into the cake one more time, thinking they didn’t remove enough of the cake to reveal either the blue or pink frosting.
Again, Makiah asked Ryver, “What color?” River again replies with a matter-of-fact “white.”
“What other color?” Makiah tries to clarify. “Is it blue or pink?”
At this point, both Makiah and her husband began to lose their composure, laughing to the point of tears over Ryver’s steady answer of "white" as she took several bites of the cake in front of her prompting her to make an “mmmm” sound.
Eventually, dad was able to grab some blue frosting from the middle of the cake to which River finally replied “blue” to the “what color” question, revealing to her parents that she is going to have a little brother.
The parents screamed with joy as Ryver continued enjoying small pieces of the cake, going her dad a high five at the end.
In a statement shared with Mod Moms Club, Makiah said that Ryver is “only 1 year old and knows her colors so well!”
The proud mom added that “had we known there was so little blue actually in the cake, we wouldn’t have pressed her so hard.”
In the comment section, fans applauded Ryver’s patience.
“What’s funny is, everything y’all kept showing her WAS white. She didn’t get irritated repeating herself either,” the commenter wrote. “Her patience with us is UNMATCHED,” Makiah replied.
