“It's crazy that I've seen your name in my notes app for so long, and now you're here with me.”
Jana Duggar is officially a mom as the Duggar family continues to grow.
The 36-year-old “19 Kids and Counting” star — and eldest daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar — took to Instagram on Jan. 23 to announce the birth of her first child with husband Stephen Wissmann.
The post included three photos of the first-time parents holding (and kissing) their baby boy.
“We took some time to settle into our new rhythm before sharing this sweet news,” Jana shared in the caption before revealing the little one’s name and official birthday.
“Archie Gerald Wissmann arrived on December 30, 2025, and our hearts have been completely changed,” she added. We’re soaking in these early days, full of love, wonder, and so much gratitude.”

The Duggar family was quick to share their excitement in the comment section.
“He’s perfect!!!!” Jessa Duggar Seewald, who welcomed her sixth child in July 2025, wrote.
“Ah! He’s so cute! Can’t wait to meet him! Congratulations y’all!” Jill Dillard, a mom to three sons and one daughter who died in utero in 2024, added.
“Ahhh we love Archie so much already and can’t wait to meet him!!” Jinger Vuolo, who welcomed her third child — a baby boy named Finnegan — in March 2025, commented.
Jana Duggar’s baby news comes five months after she announced her pregnancy in August 2025.

"January 2026 is going to come with a little bundle of joy joining our family!" she wrote on Instagram at the time. "We’re counting down the days and eagerly looking forward to this thrilling new chapter in our lives!"

Jana Duggar continues her family’s trend of classic boy names
Jana Duggar chose quite the classic — and royal — baby name for her first son.
Archie, a diminutive of Archibald meaning “genuine” and “brave,” was a top-100 boy’s name in the U.S. in the early 1900s before falling out of the top 1,000 in 1989, according to the Social Security Administration.
It re-entered the SSA’s list in 2018 and regained prominence after the birth of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s first child, Prince Archie of Sussex, in 2019.
It most recently ranked 333rd in the U.S. in 2024, per the SSA.

Jana Duggar’s baby name choice came months after her sisters Jessa and Jinger also chose old-fashioned boy names for their sons in 2025.
Jinger named her first son (and third child total) Finnegan, a traditional Irish surname, while Jessa went with the name Edward, an Old English name, for her fourth son and sixth child total.

“We liked the sound of Edward from pretty early on in this pregnancy,” Jessa’s husband, Ben Seewald, said in a YouTube video, released Aug. 11.
“We always like historical names, too, so there’s some historical significance with Edward,” he added while name-dropping preacher and philosopher Jonathan Edwards and King Edward VI of England.
Jessa and Ben Seewald are also parents to sons Spurgeon, 9, Henry, 8 and George, 19 months, and daughters Ivy, 6, and Fern, 3, according to People.
