Mia, Isabella and Sofia all ranked inside the SSA’s top-10 most popular girl names in the U.S. in 2024.
For Haley Richardson and Robert Dillon, naming their baby girl Kelce Taylor was a no-brainer.
After all, Dillon has been a die-hard fan of the Kansas City Chiefs since the day he was born — and one of the best tight ends in the game today, Travis Kelce, has spent his entire career with the franchise.
And with Travis Kelce dating Taylor Swift, it only made sense to include Taylor in his baby girl’s name.

On July 25, Liberty Hospital — located about 25 minutes north of the Chiefs’ home stadium — took to social media to share a photo of Richardson and Dillon’s newborn baby alongside a Travis Kelce jersey.
“We are so excited to announce the birth of the youngest Swiftie and newest member of The Kansas City Chiefs Red Kingdom!!” the hospital wrote in the caption.
“Kelce Taylor is officially in her newborn era,” Liberty Hospital added.
In an interview with Today.com, published July 27, Richardson and Dillon revealed that their baby girl’s full name is Kelce Taylor-Grace Dillon — and it includes another nod to a Chiefs’ legend.
"TG in the middle — Tony Gonzalez was my first favorite football player, so we kind of snuck that in there as well," Dillon told the outlet.
Gonzalez was widely considered the greatest tight end in Chiefs’ history.
But according to Dillon, Travis Kelce’s play on the field wasn’t the only reason he named his baby after him.
"We would like her to grow up to have his spirit of helping others and making sure his community is better off when he leaves than when he got there," Dillon explained.
He further alluded to Travis Kelce’s philanthropic work through his organization Eighty-Seven & Running as a major selling point to naming his daughter Kelce.
The organization “empowers disadvantaged youth to achieve success by providing resources and support to their communities,” according to its official website.
"Give her some really great people to kind of emulate as she gets older, if she wants to," Richardson added.
As for the middle name Taylor, the couple were also inspired by Taylor Swift’s philanthropic work.
"I really grew to love her as a human being, more than just the superstar that she is," Richardson explained to Today.com.
"I really wanted Kelce to have that ... be able to (say), 'Oh this is who I'm named after. Maybe that's a good person that I should look up to,'" Richardson added.
Richardson and Dillon considered going with Kelsey instead of Kelce
According to Today.com, Richardson and Dillon were close to giving their baby a more traditional spelling.
The couple said they’ve personally never met a baby (or person) will the spelling Kelce and considered spelling their baby girl’s name the more traditional way, Kelsey, before going with the more unconventional spelling.
But since Dillon’s two other children have five-letter names that start with K, Kelce made more sense.
And while the name Kelce is rare, it’s not completely unused.
According to the Social Security Administration (SSA), 28 baby girls and 21 baby boys born in the United States were given the name Kelce in 2024 — and 10 baby girls were named Kelcey.
In 2023, 36 baby girls and 24 baby boys were named Kelce — while Kelcey and Kelcee were also used.
After the Liberty Hospital’s post went viral, parents took to the comment section to share their excitement — including one Facebook user whose grandson Kelce was born at the same hospital in 2019.
Other parents wondered if Richardson and Dillon were pronouncing the name KEL-see or KELS — which is the way Travis Kelce’s name is supposed to be pronounced, according to his father.
Liberty Hospital clarified in a reply to one of the comments that the baby’s name is pronounced KEL-see.
But in the couple’s interview with Today.com, they confirmed that KELS is a potential nickname for their daughter.
"We wanted to give her that opportunity as she gets older and kind of matures and decides whether or not she wants to go by Kelce or Kels,” Richardson told the outlet.
“Or even if she's more like tomboy-ish, she can go by KT," she added. "We wanted to give her lots of options with her name as she grows up and becomes her own person."
And even if Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce don’t go the distance, they’ll still love the name regardless.
"They're still two people at the top of their respective fields," Richardson explained.

"So honestly, we didn't even think about it. It doesn't matter to us whether or not they break up. We just wanted to give her people to look up to,” she added.
