“His name lived in our hearts long before we ever met him.”
A New Orleans mom is going viral for the baby names she chose for her triplets.
The names themselves aren’t too outlandish — in fact, a lot of her followers loved the names. They are, however, very similar to one another, easy to mix up and even similar to their mother’s last name.
That’s because her triplet’s names are Davianna, Daviane and Davian.
On Sept. 26, Artisha Davis — who welcomed her triplets in October 2024 before having a fourth baby in October — posted a TikTok video to help clear some of the confusion behind the pronunciations.
@tishandthetriplets Replying to @Sam💜🩷💜 Thanks for asking Sam! Davianna, Davian and Daviane No one gets thier names right, I actually regretted naming them this shortly after signing the birth certificates. I sometimes have to double check the spelling to the right baby! #tripletmom #35weekspregnant #pcos #fypシ゚viral🖤tiktok #nicutriplets ♬ original sound - tishandthetriplets
The oldest of the three, Davianna, is pronounced day-vee-AH-nuh. Davis describes her as “trouble” since she was the first one to crawl and walk — and is the one who “gets into everything.”
The next triplet, whom she describes as her “handsome knight,” is Davian, which is pronounced DAY-vee-in, while his younger sister, Daviane, is pronounced day-vee-AHN.
“Nobody gets their names right, by the way,” Davis said in the video.
Davis goes on to reveal that the reason she fell in love with the three names is because they all mean “beloved,” much like the similar variant David of the same meaning, via the Hebrew root doḏ.

“Everybody mixes them up,” Davis said in an interview with Today.com, published Nov. 18. “Even I mix up their names up sometimes. I have to look and say, ‘Which kid is which?’”
Davis apparently wasn’t the only one to fall in love with the names.
According to the Social Security Administration, Davian was given to 134 baby boys in 2024 and Davianna was given to 15 baby girls.
And while Daviane wasn’t included on the SSA’s list, Daviana — which was given to 24 baby girls — was.
Other similar names used in 2024 include Davia, Davileth, Davine, Davida, Davinity, Davinia, Davinah, Davionna, Davion, Davi, Davin, Daviel, Davien, Davina and Davie.
Davis continued her baby names trend with her fourth child
While some people might find the names for triplets odd, Davis doesn’t.
In fact, Davis told Today.com that having a sibling with a similar name is something she has dealt with her entire life as a twin with a sister named Artesha — whose name is just one letter off of her own, Artisha.
“My sister gets a ticket and it shows up under my name,” she told the outlet. “Our prescriptions come switched. We’re always calling to fix something.”
@tishandthetriplets OKAYY TRIPLETS! So excited for my babies! They had two modeling gigs this past month. These are the photos that has been released. Still waiting on 4 outfits for Davian, 2 for Daviane and 1 for Davianna. These photoshoots are so much fun but it’s HARD WORK! Changing three little babies back to back, let’s not mention when they get tired. Thankful the shoot had some swaddles in it so it was okay for them to nap on the job. In her original TikTok video, Davis admitted that she sometimes has to “double check the spelling to the right baby” when caring for her triplets — and even regretted the baby names shortly after birth.
But now that she welcomed a fourth child into the mix, it only felt right to continue the trend.
After giving birth in October, Davis named baby No. 4 Devyn — not exactly identical to Davianna, Davian and Daviane, but close enough that her fourth baby will feel just as connected to her siblings.

“I didn’t want her to seem like she was on the other side of the world from them,” Davis said in the interview. “They’re so close in age — it just felt right.”
