Scarlett Johansson is very much Team Kylie over her baby name dilemma.
The 41-year-old “Black Widow” actress appeared as a guest co-host on the Dec. 4 episode of “TODAY with Jenna & Friends” when she and host Jenna Bush Hager started talking about baby names.
The topic began by playing a clip of Kylie Kelce sharing her thoughts on people who don’t like the “boy names” she chose for her four daughters.
“The part that I take issue with on people having an issue with our names is that I actually didn’t ask. I didn’t ask what you thought about my kids’ names,” Kelce said on her “Not Gonna Lie” podcast.

Both Bush Hager and Johansson were quick to agree.
“I think unless you like a name, you probably shouldn’t say anything about it,” Johansson said. “She’s right. Nobody asked you.”
The Marvel star then admitted that she avoided telling people the name she chose for her son because she didn’t want anyone to give her the “weird face” due to his unique and “different” name.
Johansson is a mother to two kids — daughter Rose Dorothy, 11, with ex-husband Romain Dauriac and son Cosmo, 4, with husband Colin Jost, according to People.
“My mom loved it,” she said of Cosmo’s name. “Which was great. It was like, phew. She was like, ‘Oh, I had a, you know, I had like a…my third grade crush was Cosmo.’ It had a great meaning for her.”
But her mother-in-law (MIL) — Jost’s mom Kerry Kelly — wasn’t too fond of it.
“A few days after she goes, ‘Cosimo is a name I can find. That’s a recognizable name,'” Johansson said of her MIL — subtly hinting at wanting to change the boy’s name.

Scarlett Johansson’s husband has opened up about his mom’s distaste for Cosmo before.
During a Sept. 30, 2021 appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” Meyers said he loved the name Cosmo and that it fit him and Johansson perfectly, but was curious how his family reacted to the name.
“My family is very supportive, always,” he said before digressing.

“My mom, I would say, was slightly thrown by it and didn’t quite understand it,” he added. “I don’t know if she thought it was kind of, like, a hippy thing.”
He went on to reveal that she would often call him and Johansson after Cosmo’s birth and try to convince them to change the name.
“She’d be like, ‘And now, is that final? Like, did you submit the birth certificate?’” he recalled.
Instead of Cosmo, Jost’s mother was adamant about changing the name to Cosimo or Cosmos — as a nod to Cosmas, the patron saint of physicians, surgeons, pharmacists and organ donors.
“We don’t need more, worse options, variants of Cosmo, but thanks, Mom,” Jost joked.
At the premiere of “Sing 2” on Dec. 11, 2021, Johansson was asked where she and her husband came up with the name Cosmo during a red carpet interview with Access Hollywood.
