Eight months after saying “I do,” Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen have shared another big announcement.
On Friday, December 12, actress and comedian Amy Schumer took to Instagram to share a statement.
In the statement, Schumer announced her separation from her husband of 7 years, Chris Fischer.
Schumer and Fischer, a professional chef, wed on February 13, 2018 after meeting through her assistant, according to The Knot.During a 2018 interview with Howard Stern, Schumer said she and Fischer first met during a weekend on Martha’s Vineyard.
"I went really out of my way to make sure he knew I wasn't flirting with him. You know, I'd be like, 'Oh, I haven't s--t in three days," Schumer told Armchair Expert podcast host Dax Shepard during an October 2018 episode. "Just really hitting him with the hotness."
After their first meeting, Schumer and Fisher became friends. But as Schumer explained to Stern, something changed after she asked Fisher to cater a party she was throwing for a friend’s birthday.

"It just felt like we were hosting this party together," she told Stern. "He was cooking and I was getting things ready and we wanted everyone to have a really good time. And I was like, 'Uh oh. You know? I got that feeling where all the blood goes to all the places. And we were looking at each other a little bit longer. And it just changed."
Although Schumer hasn’t gone into detail regarding why she and Fisher decided to end their marriage, Schumer has hinted to the possibility of a separation on social media.
She shared the officially statement on December 12. Alongside a photo of herself and Fischer on a NYC Subway, Schumer wrote, “Blah blah blah Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after 7 years.”
“We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son,” Schumer continued. ‘We would appreciate people respecting our privacy at this time. blah blah blah not because I dropped some lbs and thought I could bag s basket and not because he’s a hot Janlmes beard award winning chef who can still pull some hot tail. Amicable and all love and respect! Family forever.”
Fischer and Schumer share one child together, a son Gene, who was born in 2019.
