Selena Gomez never went to prom — but she finally got a little taste of what it’s like.
In an Instagram video uploaded by her fiancé Benny Blanco, the 32-year-old “Lose You to Love Me” singer was treated to a prom-inspired night at the mall for an iconic photoshoot.
It’s another one of the many ways Blanco has gone out of his way to make his future wife feel special.

“My fiancé(e) has never been to prom before…” Blanco writes at the beginning of the video, which shows him walking around his backyard in a half-put-together tuxedo and no shoes while talking on the phone.
“So I asked her if we should take prom photos together at a mall,” the video continues as Blanco gives Gomez a kiss on the forehead while they get ready.
“She said yes!” Blanco wrote in the video.
The couple — both dressed like they’re going to prom — met at the bottom of their staircase for the big reveal before climbing into a limousine and heading to the mall.
There, dressed in hoodies to remain as incognito as possible, the pair took a series of adorable photos together.
“It was more fun than either of us expected it to be,” Blanco added in the video, which was set to the tune of Bill Withers and Grover Washington Jr.’s hit song “Just the Two of Us” (1980).
It didn’t take long for fans and friends to gush over their love for one another in the comments section.
“The greenest flag to ever be flown!!!!! We love you Benny!!!!” one fan wrote in the comments, while another added, “I can’t wait to find my Benny blanco.”
A third fan commented, “Selena getting the love she deserve is healing me somehow.”
“Love this kenergy,” the official account for Barbie wrote, while Chipotle commented, “who’s cutting onions.”
Fellow singer Katy Perry wrote, “I continue to ship,” and Gomez’s reported ex Taylor Lautner added, “THIS IS INCREDIBLE.”
Blanco threw himself a prom-themed birthday party for Gomez
Blanco’s cheesy photoshoot with Gomez comes after he celebrated his 37th birthday on March 8.
On April 7, during an appearance on “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” Blanco revealed that he threw himself a prom-themed birthday party to ensure his fiancée got the prom night she never had.
Blanco told Hudson that he had gone to two proms in his younger days — once with a friend and once with a girlfriend — but this one was different.
"But really, honestly, my favorite prom was with my partner," he said of his birthday party.
"She didn’t even know, she was like, ‘What am I supposed to wear? What am I supposed to do?!’” he explained. "It was like she was really going to prom."
Blanco and Gomez started dating privately midway through 2023, according to Billboard, before confirming their relationship in December of that year.
One year later, the pair announced their engagement.
The two have talked about wanting kids together — with Blanco confirming that he’d want them sooner rather than later.
