This week, Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert welcomed their daughter into the world, a moment made all the more meaningful by the heartbreak that preceded it.
After keeping many of the details regarding their child under wraps, Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert are sharing a glimpse into their lives as a family of three.
On Monday, January 5, Hough and Erbert shared a joint Instagram post revealing the birth of their first child together. The couple also revealed their daughter’s name.
“December 29, 2025,” Hough wrote in the caption. “Everley Capri Hough,” he continued.
Alongside a black and white photo of the couple embracing Everley’s feet, the professional dancer wrote, “Every step of our lives has led us to you. Our hearts have been cracked wide open and our world is forever changed.”

In the comments, their famous friends left congratulatory messages. “She’s Perfect 🥹,” fellow dancer Mark Ballas wrote. “Congratulations to you both! So happy,” Robert Irwin added.
Hough and Erbert first announced their pregnancy in July 2025. The couple used their friends’ song “So Small” by Alexander Jean to make the announcement.
Three months later, the couple revealed that Everley would be their rainbow baby.
In another joint Instagram post, Hough and Erbert revealed that prior to getting pregnant with Everley, they experienced a miscarriage.
“There are some things in life that change you forever. For us, this is one of those things,” Erbert wrote. “A chapter of love, loss, heartbreak, and everything in between. As we are now in October, Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, we share this part of our story to honor our baby that never made it earthside.”
“One in four pregnancies end in miscarriage,” she continued, “a silent heartbreak so many families know, and one we unfortunately had to experience. As we share this, know that there’s a rainbow not far behind.”
