Kristin Cavallari revealed on her podcast that she recently said goodbye to her longtime German Shepherd, Kona, opening up about the emotional decision.
Legendary country singer Dolly Parton is giving one of her classic songs a fresh, star-studded twist.
On January 13, Parton revealed via Instagram that she will release a new rendition of her 1977 hit, Light of a Clear Blue Morning, featuring Lainey Wilson, Miley Cyrus, Queen Latifah, and Reba McEntire.
Sharing a serene photo of herself gazing out at the mountains, Parton wrote, “Coming this Friday 💛 A new rendition of my song Light of a Clear Blue Morning featuring @laineywilson, @mileycyrus, @queenlatifah and @reba.”
The timing of the release is especially poignant. Parton will celebrate her 80th birthday on January 19, just days after the song drops.
While the Grand Ole Opry will honor her milestone with a special “Opry Goes Dolly” event on January 17, Parton revealed she will not be able to attend, making this release another way for fans to celebrate her enduring legacy.
Light of a Clear Blue Morning originally appeared on Parton’s 1977 album New Harvest… First Gathering and quickly became an anthem of hope and renewal. Its message of overcoming adversity has resonated across generations, leading Parton to revisit it numerous times, including a re-recording for the 1992 film Straight Talk and her 2003 patriotic album For God and Country.
Fans won’t be surprised to see Miley Cyrus on the track—Parton is the pop star’s godmother. Cyrus previously paid tribute to the song in a May 2021 performance on Saturday Night Live.
Wilson also has a recent history with Parton, collaborating on a rendition of I Will Always Love You for Parton’s 2024 Pet Gala.
McEntire and Parton share a long friendship, which includes their iconic duet, Does He Love You. Parton has also known Queen Latifah for many years and joined her on The Queen Latifah Show back in 2013.
Fans are already gearing up for the new release and are flooding Parton’s Instagram with comments. One fan wrote, “The girl group of our dreams,” while another said, “this is what i mean when i say dolly has the power to save the world.”
Beyond the musical celebration, the release reflects Parton’s enduring commitment to philanthropy. Proceeds from the track and music video will support pediatric cancer research, continuing the singer’s decades-long dedication to using her platform for meaningful causes.
Through this collaboration, Parton not only revisits a song that has inspired millions but also brings together some of the music world’s most beloved stars to spread hope and generosity.
