“We wanted to create a modern heroine complete with flaws and coping mechanisms.”
Any parent who has watched their kid pick up a bat, kick a soccer ball or swing a club for the first time knows the feeling. That rush of pride — sometimes mixed with a little fear for nearby windows — is universal. Jason Kelce is no exception.
The retired NFL star took to Instagram on April 7, 2026, to share videos of his daughter Wyatt playing golf for the first time at a driving range. The clips show Wyatt using a golf club and taking swings while Kelce cheers her on from behind.
A Family Night at the Range
The outing took place at the MGOLF driving range on West Chester Pike in Pennsylvania — the kind of low-key, accessible family activity that any sports-loving parent can relate to. No private lessons, no fancy gear. Just a dad, his daughter and some golf balls.
Kelce’s caption told the whole story: “Excited for The Masters this week, so went out to the MGOLF driving range on West Chester Pike last night with Wyatt. It was her first time with a real club, and I’ve never seen a prettier swing. She also won closest to the pin and got a mint chocolate chip waffle cone as a result.”

A mint chocolate chip waffle cone as the prize? That is peak dad energy right there. For parents who have bribed their kids with ice cream after T-ball practice or promised frozen treats for finishing a swim meet, this moment hits close to home.
Like Father, Like Daughter
This was not the first time Kelce brought golf into the family fold. In a separate video posted to his YouTube channel in August 2025, Kelce practiced his golf swing at home with help from his daughters. Wyatt joined in with a small golf club.
During that video, Kelce coached his daughter through her approach. “You’re a little bit far away, get a little bit closer,” he instructed.
After she connected, his reaction was pure dad: “Nailed it! You made it!” He then added with a laugh, “that was nearly a disaster.”
Any parent who has stood behind a toddler gripping an oversized club knows exactly what he means. The jump from a small plastic club to a real one at the driving range marks a genuine milestone — and Kelce clearly treated it like one.
Kelce shares four daughters — Wyatt, Elliotte, Bennett and Finnley — with his wife, Kylie Kelce.

Kylie Kelce Keeps It Real on Kids and Sports
While Jason beams over golf swings, Kylie Kelce has her own honest — and hilarious — perspective on which sports their daughters might pursue.
In a 2025 episode of the Not Gonna Lie podcast, Kylie addressed the question every sports parent eventually faces: which sport do you secretly hope your kid avoids?
“It’s funny now that we have four daughters and people will always say, ‘What’s the one sport you don’t want them to participate in?’ ” she said. “Not once have I said cheerleading … I’m going to piss off a whole community right now: It’s swimming.”
Her reasoning was brutally relatable for any parent who has spent a Saturday morning poolside: “I have a reason. I don’t wanna have to sit in a hot pool as the spectator and smell like chlorine when I leave, when I never f****ing touched the pool. That’s it. That’s literally it. That’s the whole reason. It’s not like I enjoy watching swimming.”
She concluded simply: “I’m good. I’ve seen what I need to see.”
