Dancer and actress Jeanine Mason, best known for her role as Liz Ortecho on the show Roswell, New Mexico, has a very special announcement for her fans.
The star is confirmed to have a role in the upcoming second season of Cross, the Amazon Prime Video series based on the Alex Cross book series by James Patterson, which was announced during New York Comic Con on October 9.
However, Mason was unable to attend the Comic Con panel due to another very important milestone in her life, giving birth to her son.
Mason took to Instagram on October 10 to make the big announcement alongside a picture of her holding her son in the hospital.
"Sorry I missed the @crossonprime panel at @newyorkcomiccon friends! But I have a really good reason," she wrote in the post's caption. "Marcelo is here. Our hearts can barely handle it. 'Mi cielo'. And that’s it really, it’s as big as the whole sky. Welcome my little guy."
Friends and fans flooded the comments with congratulations with Mason and her husband.
"My word. What a precious time this is. I cannot wait to meet him, especially if he’s a sparkle of yours. Love you. Well done. What a mama you already are. X," fellow actress Florence Pugh commented on the post.
"Biggest congratulations on your new arrival!" one fan added in the comments.
While Season 1 of Cross has not aired yet, fans of the book series are already excited to see how the story translates to the small screen. With a second season now already confirmed to be in the works, fans can get even more invested imagining what's to come for the show.
According to Deadline, "Mason is said to be playing Rebecca, a brilliant, ambitious and vengeful judge" in the show's second season.
Season 1 of Cross is set to premiere on Thursday, November 14, on Amazon Prime Video.
