Justin Bieber is getting candid about a tense moment during the birth of his son, Jack Blues, who was born on August 22, 2024.
During a recent Twitch stream, the 31-year-old Ghost singer revealed that he and his wife Hailey Bieber’s doula had a disagreement while Hailey was in labor.
“I remember dealing with, like… there was tension,” Justin recalled. “’Cause we had a doula, and then we had a nurse as well. And the nurse and the doula were really kind of butting heads.”
Justin then admitted he also found himself in conflict with the doula. “I was hella emotional because it’s like, this is one of the most important times of your life, and I remember just like, I think I was being really strong with the doula,” he said.
The tension reportedly made Hailey anxious, which prompted the model to insist that Justin apologize.
“So she’s like, ‘You need to apologize to the doula,’” he shared. “Just clear the air.”
When apologizing, Justin emphasized how important the moment was for him as a father as well. “I don’t want you to take away from my moment either as the dad,” he recalled telling the doula. “‘I got this too.’ There’s times when I need to console Hailey, and I felt like she was pushing me to the side so that she could do [her job].”
The Twitch video comes after Hailey interviewed with In Your Dreams with Owen Thiele podcast and spoke openly about how motherhood is for her.
"I do have help," she told Thiele. "I have full-time help and I’m super not ashamed to say that, and I would never shy away from talking about that because I wouldn't be able to have my career and do the things that I do without the help, and I'm really grateful for that."
"If he's not with me, he's with his dad," she added, referring to Bieber. "He's always with his family, and he's always with one of us, or with his godparents."
