“Oh and this happened yesterday!”
Kelly Clarkson’s Las Vegas residency will have to wait — and fans aren’t happy about it.
The 43-year-old “Already Gone” singer was originally expected to start her “Kelly Clarkson: Studio Sessions – The Las Vegas Residency” at Caesars Palace on July 4 and 5.
On July 4, mere hours before opening night, Clarkson shared some tough news with her fans.

“I am devastated to have to postpone tonight and tomorrow’s opening at Caesars,” she wrote on Instagram — effectively moving the show’s opening to July 11 and 12.
Clarkson cited issues with her voice as reason for postponing the show.
“We have been working 24/7 to make Studio Sessions the most intimate and extraordinary experience with and for my incredible fans,” she wrote. “I am beyond grateful that you always show up for me.”
“I want the shows to be perfect for y’all and I need to protect myself from doing serious damage so I am taking this weekend and next week to rest up so that we can deliver what you all deserve,” she added.
Clarkson went on to praise her team before hyping up the show ahead of its new opening.
“The show is truly incredible. The musicians and singers are outstanding, and I want us all to start out strong,” she wrote. “I can’t wait to be back next weekend and show y’all what we’ve been working on.”
The shocking update came just two hours after Clarkson captioned a rehearsal photo, “TONIGHT!!” in anticipation of opening night. She had been counting down the days on Instagram all week long.
Clarkson’s new residency was first announced by Caesars Entertainment in February.
It comes on the heels of her “sold-out exclusive Las Vegas engagement at PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in 2023 and 2024,” according to a Feb. 6 press release.
“I’m so excited to be back in Vegas!” Clarkson said at the time, per Caesars. “We’re bringing the studio to the stage this time with ‘Studio Sessions!’ See y’all there!”
Clarkson’s update sparks mixed reactions from fans
Fans were quick to share their disappointment over Clarkson’s update in the comment section of her post.
One fan, named Emma, had traveled all the way to Las Vegas from Boston — spending thousands of dollars on tickets and hotels to see Clarkson perform for her 40th birthday.
“I really want you to be healthy but cancelling this late has such a huge financial impact on your loyal fans,” the fan wrote.
Dozens of other fans wrote similar stories in the comments — many of whom are from the East Coast.
“Protecting health :: yes. Not ready the night of with 15 minutes to showtime and people have spent thousands of non refundable money and time to see you ::: disappointing,” one fan replied.
“When I call out sick, it’s not at the expense of thousands of people. When I call out sick, I better do it wayyyyy before im supposed to be there, or I’d probably be fired,” another fan commented.
“You have to admit that is pretty wild,” a fourth fan wrote of the short notice.
Other fans were quick to defend the “Where Have You Been” singer, despite the inconvenience.
“I know this is a bummer but what else should she have done? Hurt herself?” one fan asked. “She’s a human being. Not a robot. She cancelled this late in hopes of a miracle happening so she could perform.”
“Devastated doesn’t cut it but your health has to come first. Get well soon Kelly” another fan wrote.
“Love this and love YOU for taking care of yourself. Rest well so you can take care of the rest of us with that fantastic instrument,” a third fan added.
