“It's gonna be hard, but this is important, and I've got to do this.”
Liv Tyler grew up surrounded by lots of love — and eventually two fathers.
The 47-year-old “Armageddon” actress, born Liv Rundgren, spent the first 11 or 12 years of her life under the impression that her father was musician Todd Rundgren.
After all, Rundgren was dating Liv Tyler’s mother, Bebe Buell, at the time of her birth and was even the one who signed her birth certificate in July 1977.

But in the late-1980s, Buell confessed to Liv Tyler that her birth father was actually Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler — and she made the confession at an Aerosmith concert.
Liv Tyler opened up about that experience during an April 13 appearance on Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson’s “Sibling Revelry” podcast.
“We sat on a bench at this outdoor amphitheater and she told me the whole story in the most sincere, beautiful way,” Liv Tyler recalled, per E! News.
“I just was there with it and then we went backstage after the show,” she added.
The revelation came as a “shock” to the then-pre-teen, but turned out to be quite a blessing.

“After that concert, we went home and my mom had a chaise lounge in front of a window. I remember sitting there for what felt like three days, but it was probably three hours, Liv Tyler said on the podcast.
After a while, Liv Tyler says she came to a conclusion that she now has “two dads and all this love.”
“It was very weird. I felt so much love. I was able to soak up the love that I could,” she added. "I just was really excited about it because they're all so different and so lovely."
Despite feeling blessed, Liv Tyler admits that the revelation was “very hard and painful” for Rundgren.
“I don't speak to him enough,” she explained. “I love him. I have brothers from him and I had a whole family with them. He took care of me like he was [my] dad."
Liv Tyler says she had early suspicions about her origin story

This isn’t the first time Liv Tyler has opened up about finding out who her real father is.
During a 2015 appearance on “The Jonathan Ross Show,” Liv Tyler admitted that she had her suspicions about her origin story well before her mother’s confession.
"I kind of figured it out because he looked exactly like me," Liv Tyler told host Jonathan Ross — adding that she was about 8 years old at the time.
"I have a sister named Mia who is a year younger than me and I saw her standing on the side of the stage at a concert and literally it was like like looking at my twin, she looked exactly like me,” she added.
Liv Tyler was referring to Mia Tyler, who was born to Steven Tyler and his ex-wife Cyrinda Foxe in 1978.
The Aerosmith frontman also shares a daughter Chelsea Anna, born in 1989, and son Taj Monroe, born in 1991, with then-wife Teresa Barrick, according to People.
While she told Ross that “people only ever talk about Steven,” she added that Rundgren was “such a beautiful, wonderful influence” in her life.
Liv Tyler never had the success in music that her fathers had, but she made a name for herself on the big screen.
Her acting career began in the mid-1990s before she received her big break as Arwen Undómiel in the “Lord of the Rings” film trilogy and has also appeared in “The Incredible Hulk” (2008) and “Jersey Girl” (2004).
Outside of her career as an actor, Liv Tyler is also a mother of three.
She welcomed her first child — 20-year-old son Milo William Langdon — with then-husband Roy Langdon in 2004, according to People.
