“It was really one of the coolest days of my life.”
Matthew McConaughey’s three children are growing up fast.
The 55-year-old “Dallas Buyers Club” actor shares three kids — sons Levi, 16, and Livingston, 12, and daughter Vida, 15 — with his wife Camila Alves, whom he has been married to since 2012.
On June 20, the family of five stepped out for a day of fun at Universal Studios Hollywood.

A photo shared by Universal Studios showed Vida sandwiched between her two parents on the red carpet outside the theme park’s front gate. Levi (right) and Livingston (left) rounded out the group photo.
McConaughey wore a blue button-down shirt, white khaki shorts, flip flops, baseball cap and sunglasses, while Alves was dressed in a white mesh top and green athleisure pants.
It was a rare outing (and photo) for a family that often keeps their day-to-day lives private.
“Through space and time to our red carpet, @officiallymcconaughey knows a thing or two about the Universe,” the theme park wrote in the caption.
While some members of the media described the kids as “spitting images” of McConaughey, fans were quick to disagree in the comment section.
“Dang all the kids look like their mom. Gorgeous!” one fan wrote under Universal Studios’ photo, while another joked, “His genes didn’t even try.”
“All of the kids look just like their mother and her ancestry!” a third fan commented under an Instagram post by E! News that claimed the three kids looked a lot like McConaughey.
“They absolutely are not. Only his oldest is,” another fan wrote.
The photo comes two months after the family’s last public outing when they attended the Mack, Jack & McConaughey Gala together in Austin, Texas.
The family coordinated with matching black and white attire for the event, per E! News.
McConaughey stars in new feature film alongside son Levi
McConaughey and Alves met in 2006 at the West Hollywood nightclub Hyde, according to People.
Their relationship was confirmed the following year and they made their red carpet debut in January 2008 before welcoming their first child, Levi, six months later.
The couple welcomed Vida in 2010, got engaged in 2011 and tied the knot in 2012 before welcoming their third and final child, a son named Livingston, later that year.
In November, McConaughey appeared on tennis pro Nick Kyrgios’s “Good Trouble” podcast where he revealed that he made a pact with his wife after moving from Hollywood to Texas.
“I'm not going back to work unless I get offered roles I want to do,” he recalled of the pact, per People.
Currently, McConaughey is starring in AppleTV+’s upcoming feature film “The Lost Bus” about a bus driver (played by McConaughey) who attempts to save a group of kids from a wildfire.
McConaughey’s eldest son, Levi, made his feature film debut in the drama.
On June 16, Levi posted a series of photos of him and his father in honor of Father’s Day.
“It never gets old, somehow neither do you. Happy Father’s Day to papai, father dearest, poperz; dad(who we never call you by),” Levi wrote in the caption.
“Nevertheless your the best dad we could ever ask for and we love you for every bit of it,” he added. “Happy fathers day again to my tennis partner, we sweat it out.”
