“I use every bone in my body not to be googly-eyed over her and not kiss her and jump her bones all the time.”
Meghan Markle is sharing the special way she records all the mundane, yet special moments, in her children’s lives.
While a guest of The Jamie Kern Lima Show earlier this week, Markle shared that after her two children, Archie and Lilibet, were born, she creates obscure email accounts for them that the public wouldn’t be able to find.
Her hope is to one day share those accounts with her kids when they are older, so that they are able to recount the years in their lives they likely won’t remember.
“Before I go to bed almost every night, I email them,” Markle shared with Lima. “Because it doesn't have to be a heavy lift. And you email them, like, ‘Here's a report card from today. Or, ‘Oh my gosh, you said the funniest thing this morning.’ Or, ‘Here's a picture of you two having breakfast.’ Or, ‘Here's you playing.’ (It’s) the things that you're not going to frame, the things that you're not going to put pen to paper in a journal, but they will end up at one point in their life, maybe when they're 16 or when they're 18, that I say, ‘Here's an email that I've been keeping for you.’”

In addition to the notes and the pictures, Markle revealed she often audio records their bedtime routines because “their voices are going to change so much.”
“They went through that stage where they were so little, and they would go, ‘Mama, can I hold you?’ I didn't know it's like, ‘Mama, can you hold me?’ And I knew one day it would change but I have it so I send them those voices like, ‘Here you are at two.’”
As she grew emotional thinking about her kids, Markle said she hopes her years of emails to her kids will allow both Archie and Lilibet “to look back and go, ‘Oh my gosh, she has loved us so much.’”

The Duchess of Sussex encouraged all parents to start emails for their kids, and like a journal, write to them every night.
As she continued, “it’s the best part about being a mom,” because it’s “not about the grandeur of a gesture. It's about, ‘I see you, I'm nurturing you, I see you so deeply, and I love being able to see your growth.’ I’m just so proud of them.”
