On Monday, May 26, the musician known as MGK, born Colson Baker, appeared on the American Music Awards red carpet.
However, after walking the carpet, MGK didn’t stay to watch the performances and his colleagues receive their awards. Instead, he went straight home.
On March 27, MGK and his then-partner actress Megan Fox welcomed a daughter into the world.
“She’s finally here!! Our little celestial seed,” he wrote at the time.
The former couple has kept the details of their little girl private, but while talking with reporters on the red carpet, MGK explained why he wasn’t spending much time away from his daughter.
He told Entertainment Tonight that he was feeling a bit of “separation anxiety.”
"Baby's great," he then told E! News. "She has a little bit of a fever, so I'm gonna just walk the carpet and go back, you know what I mean, and handle my business. Give her my pheromones, and let her heal up."
"I was born to be a dad,” he added. “Yeah, it's my purpose."
In addition to his daughter he shares with Fox, MGK is also a father to his 16-year-old daughter, Casie Colson Baker, who has appeared on several red carpets alongside her father.
Fox and MGK ended their engagement in December 2024. However, they appear to be co-parenting their two-month-old daughter.
