“It’s the book I wish I had on my bed stand when I was going through treatment.”
Almost two months after actress Michelle Trachtenberg was found dead in her New York City apartment by her mother on Feb. 26, new information is coming to light.
According to new reports, Trachtenberg’s cause of death has been revealed.
Previous reports suggested that the actress’s death came after she underwent a liver transplant. However, it was published that Trachtenberg’s official cause of death would remain undetermined after the actress’s family objected to an autopsy for “religious reasons.”

Originally, the New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner did not object to Trachtenberg’s family’s decision to forego the autopsy because there was no suspicion of foul play.
Now, People is reporting that Trachtenberg died due to complications from diabetes mellitus. Her manner of death has been ruled as natural.
The New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner confirmed the report on Wednesday, April 16. In a statement shared with People by their spokesperson, "the amended determination was made following review of toxicology testing results. […] Toxicology testing can be done without autopsy."
Trachtenberg was 39 years old.
