“Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star Mikayla Matthews is facing backlash for participating in one of the latest TikTok trends while holding her newborn child.
On August 2, Matthews took to TikTok to participate in the Nicki Minaj stiletto trend at two weeks postpartum.
The trend includes Minaj’s song “High School” as participants put on stiletto heels and balance on random household items.
The results of the trend are pretty impressive, in addition to Matthews’ take on the trend, stars like professional dancer Whitney Carson also blew people away.
Carson is seen balancing in heels on her “Dancing With the Stars” trophy she won during season 19 of the show. “Let’s not forget,” Carson captioned the video.
While Carson was applauded for her take on the trend, some fans were upset with Matthews for using her infant child as a prop.

“How it feels balancing postpartum + 4 kids and being the breadwinner,” Matthews captioned the video.
“Interesting how this is actually endangering a child yet when Whitney just danced in the hospital you acted like she was the worst mom. Hmmmm,” a commenter wrote, referring to the backlash co-star Whitney Leavitt experienced when she also used her child as a prop for a social media video.

“I don’t think holding the newborn was necessary,” another fan noted. “Girl, if you woulda fell what woulda happened???” added another.
“Really with a newborn… irresponsible,” read another comment. “It’s okay to pass on a trend.”
However, others found it impressive.
“Doing a pistol squat in heels on a stool while holding a baby and diapers with a face mask on is ELITE,” read one comment.
“Okay but how are you doing this at 2 weeks postpartum???”
“Mommy?” Mikayla’s Secret Lives of Mormon Wives co-star Mayci Neeley, who also just welcomed a baby in July, wrote. While her other co-star Jessi added, “MOTHER,” in support of their friend.
