“The health-insurance company will deny you what you’re asking for and you have to appeal and then you have to apply again.”
San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey is opening up about fatherhood.
The NFL player is a new father to his five-month-old daughter, Colette, whom he shares with his wife, model and actress Olivia Culpo.
In a new interview with PEOPLE, McCaffrey shared the ways that his wife and daughter inspire him more than ever on the field.
"My family is one of the reasons I play," he shared with the outlet over Zoom. "Whenever you get to see them right before you go out to battle, it's a quick reminder of why you're doing it."
For McCaffrey, he is building his own family legacy inspired by the way his father, former NFL player Ed McCaffrey, built his.
"It means everything to have my family there," he continued. "I got to watch my dad play when I was a kid. I know my daughter won't remember it, but just knowing she was there and able to be present when I played means a lot to me."
While his daughter may only be a few months old, she and her mom love cheering him on from the stands.
On December 16, Culpo shared a carousel of photos on Instagram, celebrating the 49ers’ big win.
In the photos, little Colette was decked out in her 49ers gear alongside her grandparents, Ed & Lisa McCaffrey.
Culpo brought Colette to attend her first football game on September 21 at just two months old, posting an adorable video of Christian holding her in his arms on the sidelines before he showered them both with kisses.
