“It’s the book I wish I had on my bed stand when I was going through treatment.”
Penn Badgley is feeling the pressure as he reveals the gender of his soon-to-be twins.
On April 23, the 38-year-old actor was walking the red carpet for the premiere of the final season of his Netflix series “You,” released April 24, when he was asked about his wife’s pregnancy.
While he says he and his wife, Domino Kirke, were ready — and trying — for another baby, he admits they weren’t expecting two of them.
“The twins was a shock,” he told Access Hollywood — adding that the twins are identical boys. “So, now we have four boys.”
The couple are already parents to a 4-year-old son James, born in 2020, per People. Badgley is also a stepfather to Kirke’s 16-year-old son Cassius from a previous relationship.
While talking to Access Hollywood, Badgley opened up about what it means to have two more boys running around the house.
“You know, I do mean this sincerely. It sounds a bit tacky, but the world needs more good men, so you know, pressure’s on us to raise them well,” he said in the interview.
As for his “dad superpower,” Badgley alluded to his patience — at least temporarily.
“Well, it’s my patience until I’ve lost it, and then I’m just as bad as anybody else. But, I can be very patient,” he told Access Hollywood. “But again, I can lose it.”
Badgley also dished on just how long he and his wife have until the new ones are born — explaining that they’ve “got a month of date nights left — maybe.”
Badgley and Kirke are expecting ‘monoditwins’

On Feb. 28, Kirke announced that she and her husband were pregnant with babies No. 3 and 4 in an Instagram post that showed her husband and younger son kissing her growing baby bump.
In the caption, Kirke revealed that they were due in summer 2025.
“Talk about a PLOT TWIST! Spontaneous twins are beyond magical,” she added in the caption. “We are stunned. We are in awe. Can’t think of anyone else I’d rather be on this ride with.”
Also in the caption, Kirke revealed that her twins are #monoditwins — slang for monochorionic diamniotic twins.
According to the University of Michigan, “monochorionic diamniotic (Mo-Di) twins are twins that share a placenta and therefore a blood supply,” despite having their own inner sac.
As a result, Mo-Di twins must be monitored closely at 16 weeks gestation as complications — including birth defects — could arise from the shared blood supply.
