The rapper shares three kids, RZA, 3, Riot, 2, and Rocki, 1 month, with his partner Rihanna.
Robert Pattinson is opening up about fatherhood — and how there’s really no way to prepare for it.
At the November 1 premiere of his new film, Die My Love, the actor told E! News about the contrast between his character Jackson’s experience with fatherhood and his own.
“My character was pretty incapable of dealing with it,” he said. “I think I just enjoyed working with babies more. There’s something about it. Every time I see a baby now on the street, I’m like, ‘What’s up?’”
The 39-year-old Twilight star also noted that he and his character do in fact have a few things in common. “I had just become a father when I was shooting,” he shared. “And our baby in the movie is basically the same age as my daughter was in real life.”
When asked about his fiancée, Suki Waterhouse, Pattinson explained that she didn’t visit him on set. “She didn’t [come on set], because we were only in Calgary,” he said. “I was going back to L.A. It was easier.”
Pattinson and Waterhouse welcomed their first child, a baby girl, in March 2024. The English singer and actress announced her daughter’s arrival on Instagram with a sweet caption: “Welcome to the world, angel ❤️,” alongside a Polaroid photo of herself cradling her newborn.
In a May interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Pattinson reflected further on how becoming a dad has changed him. “In the most unexpected ways, having a baby gives you the biggest trove of energy and inspiration,” he said.
“Ever since [my daughter] was born, it’s reinvigorated the way I approach work — you’re a completely different person the next day.”
Pattinson and Waterhouse met in 2018 and got engaged on December 21, 2023. In a 2023 interview with The Sunday Times, Waterhouse opened up about her relationship with Pattinson.
"I'm shocked that I'm so happy with someone for nearly five years," she said, also noting that the pair never goes more than two months without seeing each other. "I had two days off the other day, and it was like, no question I'm going back to see him."
Waterhouse also shared that she still gets "incredibly excited" when Pattinson's name shows up on her phone.
"I think he feels the same about me," she noted. "We've always got so much to say, and I find him hilarious."
