“I’ve got Todd over here being dramatic."
On Monday, May 26, the American Music Awards celebrated the music industry by handing out fan-voted awards to some of the biggest stars in music.
At the end of the show, a musician who has been in the music industry for several decades was honored and celebrated. Sir Rod Steward was given the AMA’s Lifetime Achievement Award for his incredible career.
Stewart is responsible for hit songs like “Sailing,” “The First Cut Is the Deepest,” “Forever Young,” “Maggie May” and so many more.
Now, at 80 years old, Stewart is headlining a successful residency in Las Vegas and preparing for an 80-day tour called “One Last Time.”

After detailing Stewart’s illustrious career, five of Stewart’s 8 children appeared on stage to present their father with the award. Something Stewart had no idea was happening.
As his kids congratulated him, a surprised Stewart appeared on stage telling the crowd that he thought his kids had made a video for him, not that they would be there in person.
