Savannah Chrisley debunks accusations that mom Julie Chrisley faked breast cancer

Sara Vallone | June 18, 2025

In a video shared on her YouTube account, Savannah Chrisley hit back at claims that her mom, Julie Chrisley, faked her breast cancer diagnosis in order to avoid legal proceedings.

On June 17, Savannah addressed a specific rumor floating around that claimed her mom faked her 2012 breast cancer diagnosis in order to avoid being charged with bank fraud and tax evasion in 2019.

In the June 17 episode of her Unlocked podcast, which was filmed before Julie and Todd Chrisley were released from prison after they were pardon by President Donald Trump, Savannah said that she was “literally dumbfounded to see the accusations like that were being made.”

“Apparently she faked her breast cancer diagnosis to avoid court proceedings, was what this individual said,” Savannah continued, before taking it back to the moment Julie was first diagnosed.

“Let's take it back. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012. They weren't federally or criminally charged till 2019, so that, right there, completely debunks your whole theory,” she told her listeners.

But for those who are curious about Julie’s breast cancer journey, Savannah walked her listeners through the timeline, sharing where she was when she learned of the diagnosis, her mom’s decision to undergo a double mastectomy and a hysterectomy, and the pain Julie endured during her recovery.

“Grayson at the time, was six years old, and mom knew that she could not risk the chances of her cancer coming back,” Savannah shared explaining her mom’s decision to undergo the double mastectomy and hysterectomy. “Her cancer was estrogen driven, and so they wanted to get rid of all of her female parts that produced estrogen.”

Savannah then slammed the person who shared the accusation, saying, “I hope you feel good about yourself,” before revealing the precautions she now takes because of her mom’s cancer journey.

“I have started getting mammograms early. I also have my endometriosis and some other female issues. So due to that, they did some mathematical equation and said I had like a 35% chance of having breast cancer in my life, which is a pretty high percentage,” Savannah continued.

“So I am being proactive when it comes to my health and making sure that I'm doing proper screening and listening to my body,” which also includes self-exams, sharing that’s how Julie “found her lump.”
