Seth Meyers is redeeming himself after previously sparking backlash.
The 51-year-old comedian and late-night talk show host was criticized last month for not helping his wife take care of their ill daughter while she delivered a commencement speech at her former high school.
Now one month later, fans are praising him after he had an opportunity to explain himself.

The saga began on May 31 when Meyers took to Instagram to share a few photos from the ceremony his wife, Alexi Ashe, spoke at. Their 3-year-old daughter, Adelaide, was by Ashe’s side in each of the photos.
In the caption, Meyers applauded his wife while explained that Adelaide was sick at the time and wanted to be with her mom.
“Instead of sending her home (Alexi) let her join her on stage without ever losing her cool,” Meyers wrote of his wife’s decision to take Adelaide — further praising the “motherhood clinic” Ashe put on.
Many of his fans expressed their disapproval in the comment section.
“Am I the only one who thinks someone should have helped with the kiddo so she can focus on the task at hand?” one commenter asked.
“There’s a whole meme about dads failing to let moms have their moments like this, and just letting kids do this. So uncool of you,” another fan argued.
Two weeks later, the “Late Night With Seth Meyers” host redeemed himself in an interview with Howard Stern.
Meyers opens up about decision to let Adelaide on stage
During a June 17 appearance on “The Howard Stern Show,” Meyers was talking about the influence his wife has on his life when he brought up her recent commencement address.
“It was really one of the coolest days of my life,” he said of the event.
“She was really funny and she was really moving. And it was smart and you could tell the kids were hanging on her every word,” he added of her speech.
Meyers credited his wife for coming up with the idea to bring their children so they can see her on stage. But when that time came, Adelaide wasn’t interested in letting her mom go.
“She’s really in her mom era and she’s crying. The moment she sees Alexi walk in in her cap and gown, (Adelaide is) reaching for her,” Meyers explains.
Meyers, who admitted he didn’t know what to do at that moment, questioned leaving the event to care for his daughter — though he didn’t want to miss his wife’s speech.
That’s when his wife stepped in and, without hesitation, took Adelaide on stage with her.
“Alexi just goes, ‘Give her to me,’” Meyers explains. “So, she takes my daughter, walks up on stage, sits her in a chair next to her and my daughter calms down the moment she’s there.”

“I love Seth. It’s so sweet to hear how much respect he has for his wife and family,” one fan wrote in the comment section of the Stern Show’s YouTube video.
“NOW THIS IS A MAN AND MORE MEN SHOULD TAKE LESSONS. Acknowledgment, support, love, kindness and appreciation,” another fan wrote under the show’s Instagram post.
“This is a beautiful authentic man talking about his love, his partner, his family and his admiration of it all💓and I love it!” a third fan wrote on Instagram.

Aside from their daughter, Meyers and Ashe — who have been married since 2013 — share two sons named Ashe Olson and Axel Strahl.
