Sofia Richie Grainge experienced a “mix of emotion” celebrating her daughter’s first birthday.
The 26-year-old daughter of iconic singer Lionel Richie welcomed a baby girl, Eloise Samantha, with husband Elliot Grainge in May 2024. It’s the couple’s first child since tying the knot in April 2023.
On May 20, Richie Grainge took to Instagram to share an inside look at the extravagant birthday party the couple threw for their little one.

“A year ago today my little girl was born,” Richie Grainge wrote in the caption. “I didn’t realize her first birthday was going to be such a mix of emotion for me.”
The festivities included a pink theme with pastel-colored balloons, flower pillows, mini tents, a two-tiered birthday cake and a pink bounce house shaped like a castle.
On her Instagram Stories, Richie Grainge also shared a photo of a cotton candy machine.
“On one hand it’s the most amazing beautiful milestone,” Richie Grainge said of her daughter’s birthday. “On the other hand I look back and realize those tiny little moments are something I’ll never get back.”
The model described watching her little one grow as a “gift” and called Eloise her “greatest achievement.”
“She has given me purpose, and I am nothing without her. Elliot and I couldn’t love anything in this life more,” she added in the caption. “I don’t know what I did to deserve my little buggie.”
Richie Grainge was dressed in a white T-shirt with pink pants and matching pink shoes, while Eloise donned a yellow and pink striped dress with yellow clips in her hair.
“All I know is my heaven is right here on earth with her,” she continued, “so beyond blessed.”
Richie Grainge says her daughter already has her own phone
Richie Grainge is already well aware of the sacrifices she needs to make as a first-time mother.
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal in August, the social media influencer opened up about her new role as a mother and how it has affected her career in the fashion industry.
“I’m a very scheduled, organized person,” she explained, per E! News. “But I’ve also learned that I don’t have to be that way, because when you have a baby, all of that kind of goes out the window.”
Instead of having to choose between her career and her baby, Richie Grainge chooses both.
“If I’ve gotta go to fashion week, then she’s going to pack her bags and come with me,” she added. “If she can’t, then I’m not going to be able to make it.”
In November, Richie Grainge again opened up about motherhood on Jake Shane’s “Therapuss” podcast.
At one point during the episode, Richie Grainge revealed that Eloise has a “little baby phone” that friends and family can text or call.
When Shane texted it one morning, he learned that Eloise has a bit of an attitude.

"I said, ‘Eloise do you mind if me and your mommy talk about how perfect you are on the podcast today?’” Shane recalled. “And she said, ‘No, keep my name out of your mouth.’”
“And I said, ‘Eloise, excuse me,’” he continued. “She said, ‘I hate you.’”
Richie Grainge later explained that Eloise wasn’t the one behind the texts.

“Whoever is with Eloise gets the phone,” Richie Grainge said, further explaining that her friend, Ali Meller, was the one doing the texting at the time.
