Adam Sandler recently treated his fans to a special performance when he invited his 16-year-old daughter Sunny Sandler onstage for an impromptu concert. And suffice it to say, it looks and sounds as though talent runs in the family.
The moment occurred during the Milwaukee stop on the funnyman's You're My Best Friend Tour at the Fiserv Forum on Sunday, Oct. 5. In a clip that has been widely shared on social media, Sunny can be seen belting out the 2020 Gabby Barrett hit country song "I Hope," while her famous dad stood nearby and accompanied her on guitar.
"LOOK AT HOW PROUD HE IS," gushed one user along with a cry-face emoji. Others complimented her singing talents, or remarked on how "normal" the Sandler family seems to be.
"A normal family that we need," commented another user. "I love how normal his kids act unlike these other celebrities children," added another. "He did a great job raising them obviously."
Why is Sunny Sandler famous?
In addition to being the child of one of the most beloved comedians on the planet, Sunny Sandler has been quietly growing her star.
The teen has a couple of dozen film credits to her name, though mostly in Sandler's projects, including her first credit, Grown Ups, the Hotel Transylvania movies, and a starring role in the 2023 coming-of-age comedy drama, You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah.
Mostly recently, Sunny appeared in Happy Gilmore 2 as the titular character's daughter, Vienna Gilmore. Ahead of the Netflix premiere of the comedy on July 25, Sandler spoke with E! News about what it's like working alongside his daughter.
"Oh, my god, you're just relieved. Once they do it well, nothing feels better as a parent,"” Adam told E! News in an interview that aired on July 16. "It must be like when you're the parents of a baseball player and you're at the game and they get a hit. You just go, ‘Thank God.’ It’s just so much relief."
Does Sunny Sandler have any siblings?
Yes, Sunny has an older sister, 19-year-old Sadie Sandler. Sadie has likewise appeared in several of their father's movies, including Happy Gilmore 2 and You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah. Additionally, their mom, Jackie Sandler (née Titone) is also a frequent collaborator with Sandler, and likewise has appeared in both of those aforementioned movies.
"Of course I always want the family around, and my wife and my daughters, I'm always happiest when they're near me," Sandler told Entertainment Tonight back in July. "And if it's making sense to the movie, we figure out a way."
