WWE legend Hulk Hogan has died, according to reports from TMZ.
On Thursday, July 24, medics were reportedly called to Hogan’s Florida home, citing cardiac arrest. According to TMZ, Hogan was taken out of the home on a stretcher.
The news was later confirmed by the WWE. In a post shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, the WWE wrote, “WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away.”
“One of pop culture’s most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s,” the statement continued. “WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans.”
In response to the statement, fans shared their condolences as well.
“How you feel about him personally aside, you can’t deny he forever changed professional wrestling. RIP,” one comment read.
Hogan was 71 years old.
The WWE Hall of Famer, born Terry Eugene Bollea, rose to prominence in the sport in 1983, but had made his professional wrestling debut in 1977, IMDb reports.
He went on to win the WWF championship five times before retiring from the sport and turning to reality television.
During the height of his WWF fame, Hogan was married to his first wife Linda Hogan until 2009. They share two children together, Brooke and Nick Hogan.
The then-family of four shared much of their life via “Hogan Knows Best” from 2005 to 2007.
Hogan later married Jennifer McDaniel in 2010 before divorcing in 2021. At the time of his death, Hogan was married to Sky Daily since 2023.
Just months before his death, Hogan became a grandfather when his daughter, Brooke, welcomed twins into the world in January 2025 with her husband Steven Oleksy.
Hogan officially retired from wrestling in 2012.
In addition to his wrestling accolades, Hogan has also assumed roles in several movies and television shows and lent his voice to several video games and animated series as well.
