This Halloween, there’s no tricks with our FREE Boneless Wings deal.”
Costco just released a new color of its Tramontina Dutch Oven 2-Pack, perfect for fall soups and stews. And given the price tag, shoppers do not want to miss out on this deal.
The dutch ovens were first spotted by the popular Costco Hot Finds Instagram account, which notes in a video posted this week that the set comes with both a four quart and six quart enameled dutch oven.
"Costco just brought out a set of two cast iron dutch ovens and the green color this year is my favorite," the self-proclaimed Costco addict narrates. "The set includes a four quart and a six quart, these are perfect for soups and I love to bake bread in mine too. They hold heat very well and they look gorgeous on the table."
A sign advertises the set for just $69.99, which is a deal considering that a 6.5 quart enameled cast iron covered dutch over runs for $99.95 on the Tramontina website.
In general, Tramontina is more affordable than luxury alternatives such as Le Creuset and Staub, but the Costco deal takes it to the next level. Comparatively, a Le Creuset 6.75 quart signature dutch oven will set you back $515.
Suffice to say, Costco (and cooking) enthusiasts had their interests piqued by the deal. "Green is mean looking, great colors," wrote one user, while another gushed, "I love the green AND the white, I can’t decide which I love more."
"These Dutch ovens are amazing," added yet another commenter. "My favorite color is the green. Heavy, durable and will last a very long time."
Dutch overs are popular since they're such versatile cookware, perfect for a wide range of dishes such as stews, braises, and soups. You can even bake bread or deep fry in them! The heavy, lidded construction traps heat and moisture inside, yielding tender, flavorful results.
Because they can transition from the stovetop to the oven, dutch ovens are also great for one pot meals since you can sear and brown in them and then pop them in the oven. And then because they're also attractive looking, they can go right from the oven to your dining room table.
However, given the bargain price of the Tramontina set, it's not without its drawbacks. In a Reddit post from two years ago, some users noted that compared to premium brands, Tramontina does tend to chip a little easier.
So for anyone who does jump at this set, be warned that you may have to use extra care when washing the pieces, and make sure not to tap metal utensils against the edge.
