TGI Fridays is handing out free kids meals to SNAP recipients affected by the government shutdown.
But the promotion is only available for a limited time — so here’s everything you need to know.
The promotion, dubbed “Kids Eat Free,” began on Nov. 6 and will run through Nov. 20. After the initial two-week period, the promotion will run every Tuesday through the end of the year, per Today.com.
The free kids meal can only be redeemed by families who 1) present a valid EBT card, 2) place a dine-in order at a participating U.S. location and 3) purchase at least one adult entrée worth a minimum of $10.
Families are limited to one free kids meal per adult per day.
Other chain restaurants that offer free kids meals — with or without an EBT card — include Denny’s, Matchbox Restaurants, Cody’s Original Roadhouse, Ruby Tuesday, Wings & Rings and Main Event.
Denny’s offers a Kids Eat Free promotion between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. daily when purchasing an adult entrée, while Ruby Tuesday offers a similar promotion on Tuesdays after 5 p.m. and all day Friday.

DoorDash and Instacart are also supporting families who receive SNAP benefits, per Today.com.
Instacart rolled out a $5 million plan to give active SNAP customers who use EBT SNAP benefits on their platform a 50% discount (up to $50) on their next purchase. The offer is valid up to 100,000 redemptions.
Meanwhile, DoorDash is waiving fees for approximately 300,000 grocery orders for SNAP recipients at various participating stores and committed to delivering one million meals for free through Project DASH.
The ongoing support comes one month after the government shutdown began, according to NBC News.
The government shutdown, effective Oct. 1, occurred as a result of Congress failing to pass funding legislation to finance federal government operations and agencies for the 2026 fiscal year.
One of the affected operations is the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, also known as SNAP.
SNAP, commonly referred to as “food stamps,” is the largest federal nutrition assistance program in the United States. It provides monthly benefits to help low-income individuals and families buy healthy food.
While millions of Americans lost SNAP benefits on Nov. 1, those benefits are expected to return soon.

On Nov. 10, the Senate passed a funding package that would end the government shutdown if approved by the House of Representatives. Some families have already seen partial returns on SNAP benefits.
