"Even when my songs got big, my mom was like, ‘Yeah, but what's your backup plan?’”
Diddy and his lawyers received quite the warning from a judge on the 17th day of his federal trial.
The 55-year-old music mogul is currently facing a slew of criminal charges related to racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution following his arrest on Sept. 16.
The rapper, born Sean Combs, has been held at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center ever since.

On June 5, Diddy and his lawyers were handed a stern warning from Judge Arun Subramanian following a cross-examination of Bryana Bongolan, a designer and friend of Diddy’s ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura.
“I was very clear there were not to be any facial expressions or any attempts to influence the jury,” the judge said to Diddy’s lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, per USA Today.
Diddy was allegedly “looking at the jury and nodding vigorously” throughout the cross-examination.
The judge, who issued the warning shortly after the jury was excused for lunch, threatened sanctions if Diddy tried to influence the jurors in any way moving forward.
Subramanian even threatened to have Diddy removed from the courtroom for the duration of the trial.
Diddy's lawyers question Bongolan's recollection of the incident
The cross-examination saw Diddy’s lawyers press Bongolan about an incident where she accused Diddy of holding her over a 17-story balcony in Los Angeles in 2016, per TMZ.
Bongolan allegedly suffered minor injuries from the incident after Diddy threw her on balcony furniture.
Diddy’s lawyers argued that the rapper couldn’t have been in LA at the time because he was reportedly on the East Coast performing and attending a charity event as part of his “Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour.”
Bongolan had initially testified that the incident occurred on Sept. 26, 2016, but the defense claimed that Diddy had a hotel room under his alias, "Frank Black,” from Sept. 24 until Sept. 29.

The prosecution later confirmed that the alleged incident occurred on Sept. 30, according to TMZ.
When asked how one person could be at two places at once, Bongolan didn’t have an answer.
Diddy has pleaded not guilty to one count of racketeering conspiracy; two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion; and two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, per NBC News.
