“Oh and this happened yesterday!”
Julia Roberts and Danny Moder are celebrating another year together.
The longtime couple, who tied the knot in 2002, took to Instagram on July 4 to celebrate two special occasions in one day — the 4th of July (like everyone else) and their 23rd wedding anniversary.
“You + Me = 23,” Roberts wrote in her caption alongside a photo of the pair in a tent by a creek.

In a post of his own, Moder shared a photo of him and his wife through a reflection on a silver spoon that he had engraved in honor of their 23rd wedding anniversary.
“23 years is SILVER,” he wrote in the post, which shows him throwing up a peace sign with his fingers.
“Here we are in my engraved SPOON! the fun continues… and a happy 4th to all,” he added.
According to Hallmark, the traditional (and modern) anniversary gift for 23 years of marriage is silver-plate — with many couples exchanging silver jewelry, spoons, plates and other silverware.
Looking ahead, next year’s anniversary gift will be musical instruments (modern) and opal (traditional).
Roberts and Moder, who share three kids together — twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, 20, and son Henry, 18 — first met in 2000 on the set of “The Mexican,” which was released the following year.
Moder was working as a cameraman, while Roberts starred as Brad Pitt’s love interest.
At the time, Moder was still married to celebrity makeup artist Vera Steimberg, whom he divorced in early 2002, and Roberts was dating actor Benjamin Bratt, whom she split from in June 2001, per People.
"He sorted his whole thing out, separate and apart from me. And I sorted my life out, separate and apart from him,” Roberts said of her relationship with Moder in a 2003 interview with Oprah Winfrey.
“I think that's the only reason we were able to ultimately fall in love with each other and be together,” Roberts added.
On July 4, 2002, Roberts and Moder invited close friends and family members to the actress’s 82-acre ranch in Taos, New Mexico for what guests thought was a 4th of July celebration.
That celebration turned out to be the couple’s wedding, where they exchanged handwritten vows.

Now 23 years later, Roberts and Moder are as happy as ever as they celebrate another anniversary.
The couple regularly post about each other on social media, including for birthdays, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day and more.
“Such a great joy in life to see you Fathering!” Roberts wrote of Moder on June 15. “Happy Father’s day dearest Danny.”
On May 11, Moder wished his wife a Happy Mother’s Day with a photo of her and their three kids.
“Mothers make the coolest stuff. Love these guys,” he wrote in the caption.
But Roberts’s recent anniversary post broke a three-year streak that saw the actress post an annual photo of her and Moder locking lips.
She had shared such a photo for the couple’s 20th, 21st and 22nd anniversary, but not for their 23rd. It was also the first time since 2019 that her anniversary photo wasn’t a selfie of the pair.
For their anniversary in 2019, Roberts posted a selfie of herself captioned, “17 years.”
During an appearance on the “Today” show in December 2023, Roberts was asked about life as a parent when she turned all the attention to her husband.
“It all starts with Danny Moder,” Roberts told Hoda Kotb at the time.
She went on to describe Moder as “our person and in the most beautiful way, the captain of our ship,” and credited him with helping her understand “how deeply felt life could be.”
