Julian McMahon has died following a private battle with cancer. He was 56.
The beloved “Fantastic Four” and “Charmed” actor’s death was confirmed by his wife, Kelly McMahon, in a statement shared by NBC News, in which she remembered her husband as someone who “loved life.”
“He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans,” she wrote.

Kelly McMahon, who has been married to Julian McMahon since 2014, clarified that her husband “died peacefully” after a “valiant effort to overcome cancer,” which had previously gone unreported.
"His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible,” Kelly McMahon continued.
"We ask for support during this time to allow our family to grieve in privacy," she added. "And we wish for all of those to whom Julian brought joy, to continue to find joy in life. We are grateful for the memories."
The actor is survived by his 25-year-old daughter, Madison, whom he shared with his second wife, “Baywatch” star Brooke Burns, per People.
On July 4, Burns took to Instagram to share a heartbreaking photo of Julian McMahon and their daughter.
“Rest in peace,” she wrote over the photo — adding a broken heart emoji in the caption.
Julian McMahon, whose father served as the 20th prime minister of Australia, per CBS News, began his acting career in 1989 before moving to Hollywood and appearing in “Another World” and “Profiler.”
His career really too off in 2000 when he played a break out role in Cole Turner on the hit WB show “Charmed.”
He went on to play Dr. Christian Troy on “Nip/Tuck,” which earned him a Golden Globe nomination, before starring in three seasons of CBS's "FBI: Most Wanted" and two “Fantastic Four” films in 2004 and 2007.
Julian McMahon also appeared in "Premonition," "RED, "Paranoia," "Swinging Safari," and “The Surfer,” which was his final role on the big screen, alongside actor Nicolas Cage.
Tributes continue to pour in for Julian McMahon
Many of Julian McMahon’s former co-stars and industry friends have taken to social media to pay tribute.
“Julian McMahon was magic,” actress Alyssa Milano wrote on Instagram alongside a series of photos of the pair, who played each other’s love interest on “Charmed” from 2000 to 2005.
In her caption, Milano remembered Julian McMahon as “more than my TV husband.”
“That smile. That laugh. That talent. That presence. He walked into a room and lit it up—not just with charisma, but with kindness. With mischief. With soulful understanding,” she continued.
Holly Marie Combs, who also starred in “Charmed,” described her former co-star as “one of a kind.”
“Your unyielding zest for life and crazy making sense of humor will be sorely missed. The joy and laughter you were the direct cause of will always be remembered,” she wrote of Julian McMahon on Instagram.
Ioan Gruffudd, who appeared alongside Julian McMahon in the “Fantastic Four” series, also paid tribute to his former nemesis.
“Even though we played each other’s nemeses, there was always so much lightness and laughter working together. Every encounter with him was a joy,” Gruffudd wrote in an Instagram tribute of his own.
“It was an honor to be Dr. Richards to his Dr. Doom. My heart goes out to his wife and family,” he added.
