In a tell-all with Sukanya "Suki" Krishnan during the June 15 episode of “Sister Wives,” both Robyn and Kody Brown were asked if they would ever consider returning to a polygamous lifestyle.
“No, hell no, and I’ll tell you why,” Kody Brown said, per E! News. “Because we already failed.”
He went on to explain that he “wouldn’t do it again” now that he has experienced what it’s like.
“So, I did it, I had the experience, and we’re still in the throws of the breakup, so to speak,” Kody Brown added before clarifying, “Would I do it again? No, I wouldn’t.”
As for Robyn Brown, she admitted in the same episode that she planned on living in polygamy the rest of her life, but that plan has since changed.
“I was going to live (a) plural marriage, I was going to be a part of a big picture, big family, but that’s been taken away from me,” she explained to Krishnan, per E! News.
Despite the change in plans, Robyn Brown insisted that she will “never unchoose” her husband.
“I always choose Kody, so it’s like, however it is, it’s with Kody,” she added.
Kody Brown has previously said he’s done with plural marriage
Kody Brown’s life has changed dramatically over the past four years.
The TLC star was first legally married to Meri Brown in 1990 before entering spiritual marriages with Janelle Brown in 1993, Christine Brown in 1994 and Robyn Brown in 2010, per Entertainment Tonight.
In 2014, he legally divorced Meri Brown and married Robyn Brown in order to adopt her three kids.
On Nov. 2, 2021, Christine Brown took to Instagram to announce her decision to leave her plural marriage with Kody Brown “after more than 25 years together.”
Meri Brown and Janelle Brown announced similar decisions in a “One on One” special that aired in December 2022.
The three divorces and continued drama has been documented on “Sister Wives,” which concluded its 19th season on June 15, according to TLC.
During the April 27 episode, Kody Brown revealed his thoughts on returning to polygamy.
“We were devoted to this,” he says of his lifestyle, per E! News. “But I’m not interested in plural marriage anymore.”
“I don’t want to pursue another woman because I don’t want that headache, the questions, the struggles, the wonder about trust. I’m not in that space,” he added.
His comments came after Robyn Brown asked him about their future while eating at a restaurant.
“I’ve had some concerns about whether or not having one wife would be enough for him,” Robyn Brown said in a confessional, per E! News. “Because he has been living and used to this other way for so long.”
She said she felt vulnerable asking him about their future, but she wanted to make sure they were okay.
“The question in my head is, ‘Is this it? Or are we going to try to live plural marriage again?” Robyn Brown continued.
When she asked Kody Brown where his mind is at, he shared that he feels like he has been “slapped by polygamy” and feels “bitter” about the way his other marriages ended.
