Camp Mystic announced that it will be returning for the summer of 2026 with a new location and safety measures following a flood that killed 27 people.
Emilie Kiser is opening up about the death of her son, six months after his passing.
Kiser's 3-year-old old son Trigg died on May 12 after her accidentally drowned in their family pool.
In a written statement shared on Instagram, Kiser shared her thoughts with her followers on Instagram on Wednesday, November 12, including advice she would share with other parents of young children who are often around water.
"The second it hit midnight this morning it's like my body knew," Kiser began her statement. "Knew that today was six months. What felt like any ordinary day six months ago turned into the worst moments of my entire life. The day my son Trigg drowned."
Kiser wrote that she misses Trigg "with every fiber of my being."
"Every ounce of me yearns to hold him again, hug him again, tell him how special he is, and how much I love him," the influencer wrote. "I miss his voice, his hugs, his smile, his laugh, the way he added a 'k' sound to any word ending with the letter 's' and the way he lit up every room he walked into."
Kiser, who is also a mom to her and Brady Kiser's youngest son, Teddy, continued, saying, "to know Trigg is to love him."
"I feel broken every day that he's not here. I will never stop talking about him, watching videos of him, staring at pictures of him. Constantly bringing him up in conversations is my favorite thing and I will never stop. 'Trigg would have loved this.' 'Trigg would be laughing at this,' and so much more."
Kiser then shared "some things that I know could save families from the pain of losing a child to a preventable accident, such as drowning."
- Please watch your children, at all times. No amount of supervision is too much or "helicopter parenting."
- Please get a pool fence, not an automatic cover, not a net, a fence. Better yet, add a fence around those other barriers. Add pool alarms, extra locks, and automatic closers to your doors.
- Please sign your kids up for swim lessons - ISR lessons as soon as the age of 6 months old.
- Please take every precaution possible around water with your children.
Drowning is quick and preventable.
"I know statistically Trigg's drowning won't be the last, and more have happened since," Kiser continued. "Drowning is the leading cause of death in children ages 1-4 in the U.S." According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, on average there are 4,000 drowning deaths per year.
Since her return to social media, Kiser has been open about her grief journey and how she is moving through it. "I love him forever, and I hope I can spread even an ounce of the joy he gifted to us and everyone he crossed paths with each day," Kiser wrote.
